This week I had to travel around a little bit working on some new, fun projects! I will tell you more details soon…but I realized in a 20-minute taxi ride from midtown to Soho, that it is both a blessing and a gift to be surrounded by amazing, supportive people who believe in me, who have been with me through the good times and the challenging times, who love me flaws and all, and stand by me no matter what.
If you do one thing today, listen to someone share their dreams without judgment, without fear, without calculating the “how the heck can they make that happen?” Listen with your heart. Believe in them with every fiber of your being.
And, what’s quite miraculous, you will also see that when you dream with others- your own spirits lift, your own imagination takes over, your heart beats stronger, your eyes open wider, your own dreams awaken, as you connect and engage with the world around you.
This made me think about how many times I go into a “protective” mode when people start telling me their dreams. I immediately ask 100 questions and try to be too practical. Thank you for writing this post.
Thank you, Lisa, for your comment!!! I remember I used to do the same thing, and then once somebody did it to me and I realized it would be so much more powerful to dream with people than trying to block it!! Hope you have a fantastic day!
I listen to dreams so often and am a HUGE supporter, even giving my thoughts with excitement yet when it comes to myself, well, I’ll take your advice above. I have to believe and listen to my own dreams without calculating, without fear or judgement. That’s very hard for me to do. For me’ it’s easier to support and believe in others, than myself. Safer, I guess.
Wonderful post. 🙂
Hi Andrea! Yes – you are a HUGE supporter of other people’s dreams – try letting go of your own fears and the “practical” how-to questions for even just s moment, you have incredible things in store- I KNOW IT!!! Sometimes we have to “get out of our own way”!!! Thank you for reading and commenting!
Loventhis Jennifer. So true! Specially when you know that all some people need is to be heard, that alone gives them wings to fly. Thank you for reminding us how easy it is to be good to people 🙂
Thanks, Vanessa! And it’s so true – we all want our voices heard!! Actually, that can be a whole post in itself, just being an ear for somebody – when I write it, I will dedicate it to you for inspiring me to think about it!!!
