Live: Singing an off-key “Happy Birthday” over the phone to my dad. Listening to the kids squeal with excitement over “Poppi’s birthday”.
Love: LuLu brought a camera with her when we went to the mall. Although it didn’t have any film, she was snapping away at everything that caught her eye. She even had me “style” things so they looked better through the lens. And watching some people duck to avoid being in the picture was pretty funny, too. I don’t know how many times I said, “Don’t worry, there’s no film.” Lu told me when she grows up she wants to be a photographer like “Aunt Jess“. Adorable.
Learn: Smiling connects people. Smiling children really connects people. At the gas station, my Little Man was smiling at the attendant. They were waiving back and forth, the Man giggling the entire time. When the attendant gave me back my card, he said, “Your boy is so cute. He makes me laugh. I have to give him something. I don’t have much here…hold on.” He ran into the small store and came out with a bag of chips, which the Man happily accepted, and then he continued to talk about the trip to the gas station all afternoon.
