I am convinced that anger is just hardened hurt and that kindness heals.
And everything we do is really, at the core, a call for love, to be heard, to be seen…we must see and treat all people as an extension of oneself – we are all the same. Releasing fear and judgment extinguishes hatred. Everyone has a story. I don’t believe people are born evil. Look at our babies – they are the essence of God…we can learn so much from them.
My prayer for today – Lord, open the scarred hearts of the angry, the hurting, and fill their wounds with love and peace. May your presence bless us all. You are within each of us; allow your presence to speak into me and into the hearts of all people. You are love – we all must return to only love, our essence. We are born to be like our children – our spirits, our hearts.
It was beautiful hearing our President quote Scripture, and witnessing the unity amongst all faiths at the Vigil on Sunday night. We must remember Scripture is not just to comfort us in times of tragedy, but a “light onto our path” for everyday living…be kind and live by the spirit and we can bear its fruit: love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
