I had this random thought. I don’t know why it popped into my head, maybe because sometimes I think back to how I was in my 20’s, thinking I had all of the answers, that I knew everything, only to realize in my 30’s that I in fact actually know nothing, that life is really a circle of learning and teaching, and we never really get ‘there’, we just keep growing. Or maybe it was a conversation I had recently with a dear friend about self-discovery and yes, she was being unnecessarily hard on herself. Then again, it could just be my heart speaking to me from my own experiences. But whatever the reason, and I won’t dissect it any more than necessary, this thought entered my mind and I felt the urge to share it – drumroll please, here’s that random thought:

Discovering one’s self usually happens when we are put to the test by life itself. Somehow, in our greatest challenges, an awakening happens, and we (re)discover who we are and who we were born to be…

And then, I found this quote, and it supports my thought. I love the image of puzzle pieces turned upside down –

“Sometimes we live our lives like puzzle pieces turned upside. Then along comes life, and it starts flipping them over, showing us and the world who we are.” ~ Manifest

Who are you? How has life shown you who you were born to be? Are you being that person? Or, is something holding you back? What is it that’s blocking you? Give it a name. And then tell “INSERT NAME HERE” to take a hike 🙂
