On Friday night my LuLu went to see “The Wizard of Oz” with Nonni and Poppi. I love that play, and she has seen the movie almost a dozen times, so she was really excited. She even wore ruby red slippers with her jeans. Adorable!
So, I dropped her off at my parent’s house and on the way home stopped at 7-11 to pick up a couple of odds and ends. The bill was $9.22. My debit card was declined. I knew there was money in the account, but with a line quickly forming around me, I decided to just leave and check my balance on my cell phone (which was out in my car). The man at the counter said he’d hold my items for a few minutes and off to my car I went.
As I was entering in the details to log-in to my account, a kind stranger knocked on my car window. I looked up, and he handed me a bag filled with my stuff. He just said, “Here you go. I picked up the tab for you.”
Stunned, I really didn’t know what to say, “Really? But sir, oh my gosh. Um. Thank you, really, thank you so so much, but…” Before I could finish my sentence he cut me off.
“No, take it- whatever the reason. Just make sure you do it for someone else when the need arises.” And the kind stranger hopped into his truck.
My heart was so touched, and I sat in awe for about 10 minutes before leaving the parking lot. And, the funny thing is, I have done that before- someone in line in front of me short a few dollars or a card declined, and I just add theirs to my bill. But, still, even though I know the circular affects of our actions, every time I experience it in this way, it is nothing short of miraculous.
After telling a dear friend about my experience, she said, “I wonder what the $9.22 means.” So, I went to Google, and just put in 9 22. Here’s what I found…the first result (or as it states on Google: 1 of about 11, 420, 000, 000 results)…
Mark 9:22
“It has often thrown him both into the fire and into the water to destroy him.
But if You can do anything, take pity on us and help us!” said the boy’s father.
“If you can?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for him who believes.”
I love how GOD works thats if we are ”willing” to listen. ox

Yes! And I love how His message to “believe” was woven into every detail, from Millana wanting to wear ruby slippers, to the play, to the stranger, to my friend, to Google!
What a beautiful, inspiration story. I feel blessed to have found this website.
