Live: Rocking my Little Man to sleep to “Hush Little Baby, Don’t Say a Word.” Since I don’t actually know all of the words, we kind of make them up as we go along. At one point I sang, “If that kiss doesn’t tickle, mommy’s gonna give you a really sour pickle.” Instead of falling asleep, the Man cracked up laughing. I changed it to, “If that kiss doesn’t feel right, mommy will keep trying even if it takes all night.” That version worked better, and he finally dozed off.
Love: Listening to LuLu and the Little Man sing “In My Daughter’s Eyes” and “Blank Sheet of Paper”, together. The Man would join in at the end of every verse- and if I wasn’t with them all day, I would swear they rehearsed it! I pulled out my phone and was able to capture some video- these are days to remember.
Learn: I was shocked that Florence Henderson was voted off of “Dancing With the Stars”. She always seemed to have a blast, and I am so inspired by the way she can move!! This was a great reminder that you never know when something will end- an experience, a relationship, a job, and so forth. We must enjoy each moment, really live within it, not waste a second. The present moment is all that is, nothing else exists but now.
What are your 3 things?
