I love jewelry, especially when it holds a special meaning. Years ago I bought a simple gold initial ring. I engraved the initials “I M” on the front and on the inside engraved the word “blessed”. No one could see it, but I knew it was there. Any time the day seemed long, or my light was a little dim, I looked down at the ring as a reminder that I was blessed.
Even if there aren’t words actually on the jewelry, though, it can evoke a feeling or serve as a remind us of something. Here are a few pieces that inspire me…
This Girl on a Swing necklace by Tina Turnoff just makes me happy. It reminds me to have fun, play, live with lightness. And the neutral colors make it a compliment to any outfit from casual jeans and a tee to a frilly dress. Priced at $50, this Etsy find is charming, and even makes for a great gift:
I love a locket – something about carrying photos around your neck makes me feel connected. And, being a huge fan of the movie “Annie” doesn’t hurt the locket obsession either. This Cameo Locket Necklace Treasured Memories by CuteAbility is beautiful. I am currently all over the blush rose color as another “neutral”. You can pretty much pair it with anything and feel pretty. It’s on Etsy priced at $25, but once you add in the pictures- priceless:
Designer Andrea Rosenfeld simply inspires me. She is an artisan, who not only sketches, designs, and creates each piece, her jewelry is “infused with a higher purpose” – healing. This copper, silver, and garnet ring is to Stimulate Optimism. Garnet is the “Stone of Health”, attracts love, promotes bonding. Copper can combat lethargy and can stimulate initiative, optimism, diplomacy and independence. Silver is used with gemstones to both attract and retain their qualities. Priced at $220, this signed piece of wearable art is more than a reminder to be optimistic, you can actually feel power and energy from the ring:
I also adore a good bracelet. The “This Year I Will” bracelet by Kate Spade completely brought a smile to my face as soon as I saw it. Inscribed text says “read the classics, conquer the souffle, learn to cha-cha, take up the trumpet, fall head over heels”…need I say more? It has nice price point at $48. Plus its super simple design make it easy to wear with just about anything:
From the LuLu Petals Collection, this antiqued design flower necklace is dainty, but the pop of peacock blue adds a bold accent. I love the dichotomy suggested by this piece – gentle yet strong, vintage yet modern. Priced at $34.99, the “old world charm” of this necklace makes me feel like I’ve stepped back in time:
Now, quartz is a mineral stone known as the “energizer and amplifier”. It amplifies the energy of your dreams. It increases your energy level. When I saw this Glitter Quartz Ring on Anthropologie, my energy level soared just looking at it. Really, how can you not feel positive and amped when you are wearing sparkle like this? Priced at $138, I love that it has an earthy appeal with the hand hammered sterling band and golden crown setting:
LOVE THIS ARTICLE! *and am I allowed to share my “pant-pant” palpitations for the glitter quartz ring? 🙂 I remember having a locket growing up – (I wonder if I still do) – I had quite a few friend’s pictures inside and it was fun to manipulate instead of just wearing a piece; it moved. 😉
I am honored to be included in your work, Jennifer and think all of the designs you chose are special including the reasons “why”.
Namaste’ and be well!
Andrea
