“Not until we are lost do we begin to understand ourselves.” ~Henry David Thoreau
In 2004, I took a trip to Italy by myself. It was for several weeks, not a year, but it was my quest to find balance, become comfortable alone in my own skin, practice presence, enjoy, experience life.
I went truffle picking, learned to make handmade ravioli and 5 kinds of Bruschetta, ran on a hidden beach, saw beautiful architecture, cried at The David, sat and actually drank cappuccino from a mug instead of a to-go cup, danced, bought a leather jacket, went to The Duomo… And although I had quite an adventure across the ocean and far away from home, the most amazing part of my journey was simply within myself.
So, as you can imagine, when I first read Eat Pray Love, my immediate instinct was that everyone must read this book. And now, to see one of my favorite books paired with my favorite actress Julia Roberts playing the role of Liz Gilbert, I am beyond excited to hit the theaters and watch Eat Pray Love in motion on the big screen. So, until August 13th when I can fully review the flick, I’ll just leave you with the trailer…let yourself go!
