My uncle, George Tuma, was a musical genius. People loved him, not for his talent, but for his gentle spirit and willingness to share, teach, and perform without accolades. At his transition he was surounded by family and friends. My father said, “God opened the door for him and he bravely walked through.”
Instead of a traditional wake and funeral, all of his friends and family gathered at Roxy & Duke’s for a day long tribute. Amazing musicians came together, played, shared, laughed, and cried. It was incredible to see a life celebrated in such a beautiful, meaningful, authentic way exactly as my uncle wanted…
“It’s funny how we feel so much, but can not say a word. We are screaming inside but can’t be heard. I will remember you…” ~ Sarah McLaughlin
